Our Curriculum

At Edenham C of E Primary School it is our intent to ensure the curriculum prepares our children for the ever-changing world that we live in. We ensure that each subject area is valued and the importance of it is understood by the children we teach. Meaningful links between subjects and previous learning are built upon, with carefully mapped out sequences enabling children to use what they have previously been taught to help them progress, understand new concepts and make use of newly acquired knowledge. This enables children to remember more, learn more and know more and encourage a love of learning.

Our curriculum provides children with knowledge about the world we live in. We see it as vitally important to give children the knowledge to understand issues that have been seen in the world previously, and today and to give them the skills to consider ways in which these can be solved on a local and global scale as well as the vocabulary to explain and understand this. In doing this, we are developing a love of our community and giving our children the vital tools to be part of this and make a difference.

In lessons, and through wider enrichment opportunities, children are given the confidence to become independent learners and discover the world around them. We do not know what the future will look like, but we must ensure we prepare our children for what it could hold.
