Welcome to Edenham Primary SchoolGENERAL INFORMATION
Edenham is a Church of England Controlled School. This means that the Local Education Authority provides the financial budget and support in educational matters and that there is co-operation between the church and the school. The school has administered its own budget under L.M.S. (Local Management of Schools) since April 1993. There are 4 classes. Classes 1 and 4 have their own teacher and Classes 2 and 3 have job-share teachers who work on set days each week. There are teaching assistants who work along side the teachers supporting groups, over seeing work in the ICT suite or with intervention groups in the study room. We have a PE specialist who comes in on a Monday. The school has a number of peripatetic music teachers who teach strings and woodwind. There are extensive playground facilities, a picnic area, outdoor play area and a pond and conservation area. Edenham is a wonderful resource as a conservation village with many delightful features which teachers try to incorporate within environmental studies as much as possible. The village field is a huge area available to us for all outside sports especially at Key Stage 2. The school works very closely with parents in a variety of ways. Some parents help with activities such as swimming, cooking, football, netball, cricket, cross country running, gardening, French lessons and artwork. There are strong links with the local church, our vicar takes a weekly assembly and the church is used regularly for special services. We also have close links with the Grimsthorpe Estate and use the Vanburgh Hall for musical performances at the castle.
